Lehigh Materials operates two sand and gravel mines, one in Sechelt and one in Chilliwack. In addition to aggregate mines, Lehigh Materials has six strategically located sales depots in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, and Victoria areas.

Lehigh Materials produces in excess of four million tonnes of aggregates for use in ready-mix concrete, precast concrete production, road and building construction, landscaping, and a variety of specialty aggregates applications.

Lehigh Materials operates a Marine Services division which delivers and offloads aggregates using Lehigh’s barges and conveyor offload barges.

Lehigh Materials sales depots and mines stock a full range of concrete, construction, landscaping, and specialty products.

Sechelt Mine and Depot

Sechelt mines both deltaic and glacial deposits which allows Lehigh Materials to blend pit output to produce finished materials direct from the mine site. Sechelt’s focus is on producing high-quality concrete aggregate and, in addition, a broad range of construction materials and specialty blended sands.

As Sechelt is a marine distribution operation, aggregates are delivered on our barge fleet to Lehigh Hanson Canada depots and ready-mix operations in Vancouver and Victoria. Sechelt can also load vessels for export markets.

Chilliwack Mine and Depot

Chilliwack (Skway) operations mine deltaic deposits from its location beside the Fraser River. These deltaic deposits consist of river bed aggregates used for concrete, as well as round river rock for a number of specialty applications.

North Vancouver Depot

The North Vancouver Depot is our largest volume depot. It is at the north end of the Second Narrows Bridge, shares a site with Ocean Concrete and Rempel Bros. ready-mix concrete operations. The depot’s delivery region covers North and West Vancouver, as well as Burnaby and Central Vancouver.

South Vancouver Depot

The South Vancouver Depot is adjacent to Ocean Pipe operations at the south end of the Oak Street Bridge.

The depot’s delivery region covers Vancouver, Burnaby, and Richmond.

Delta Depot

The Delta Depot is located near the south end of the George Massey Tunnel. The Delta Depot shares a site with Ocean Concrete ready-mix operations.

The depot’s delivery region covers Delta, Surrey, and South Surrey, as well as Richmond.

Surrey Depot

The Surrey Depot is located at the east end of the Pattullo Street Bridge. The Surrey Depot shares a site with Ocean Concrete ready-mix operations. The depot’s delivery region covers Surrey and Delta.

Langley Depot

The Langley Depot is located at the west end of the Golden Ears Bridge, BC. The depot’s delivery region covers Langley, Maple Ridge, and Surrey.

Victoria Materials Recycling and Depot

The Victoria Materials Depot (VMD) is a major aggregate recycling and processing plant in Victoria on Vancouver Island, BC. The depot recycles concrete, ceramics, rock, asphalt, glass and construction waste. VMD is also involved in processing glass, hydro insulators and concrete poles. All these materials go through various stages of processing to be turned into road construction materials. Lehigh Materials helps keep waste construction materials out of municipal landfills.
